Myst: The Book of Jaguar
I went to the planetarium on the island of Myst. For some reason, I entered May 22, 1970 6:30am. As I walked out of the planetarium, I noticed that the immediate front of the library looked strange.
Upon further investigation, I found it to be the Atari building. I looked up and saw the team at Atari that ported Myst to the Jaguar (Atari). I walked forward. My body walked straight through the Atari building, and into the Myst library. When I walked outside, the Atari building was still there. I decided to show Atrus this phenomenon.
Later, when I showed Atrus, I could see him in deep thought. He said that once, when studying the Myst descriptive book, he had noticed some very obscure phrases. "Catherine must have somehow linked the true reality of Myst with the virtual reality of Myst Jaguar," he explained. But he was at a loss to explain to me how this was possible. He did say that realities cannot be created... only linked to... if they exist, that is.
Catherine returned the next day. She could not explain how she linked two realities (or quantum states) together. She simply bended the rules of writing.
*Authors note: When Myst III: Exile or Mudpie is released, I'll be able to explain a little about when this journal was written. If you're lucky enough to have the Jaguar (Atari) version of Myst, try this easter egg out. Otherwise, have the experience of a lifetime with The Myst Jaguar Experience!
I do not know for certain, but maybe (this is just a guess) May 22, 1970 6:30am is when the Atari building first opened. Perhaps. Tell me if I'm wrong.
