8. The Storeroom
There was only one linking book left in the book room... the brown one. I opened it up and could see a rocky platform with a book on it and a few other objects. I linked.
When all my atoms where back into position, I immediately checked the book. It was a linking book back to D'ni. Good, good. Everything's going to plan. So far. What'll I find in that storeroom (assuming its on this island)?
Closing the book, I noticed that this platform was part of a much larger island. I wonder if its one of the ages I've already linked to. To me, it feels most like Gaelin.
In front of me, on the rockface, I could see a small door, just waiting to be opened by someone. Inside, I was faced with a solid nara door, with a control panel on the wall, just as Agmis mentioned in his eighth journal. On the control panel are four buttons. The left one is the symbol for Gaelin, while the left middle button is for Ge'airram, the right middle button is for Cissar. I deduced that the fourth button is for Alev mentioned in Agmis's eight journal... what else could it be?
As per the code in Agmis's journal, I pressed the symbol for Gaelin two times. Then the symbol for Ge'airram once, then Cissar twice, and finally Alev once. Hey... I can see a pattern here!
It worked!
I am now in the storeroom. I AM on Gaelin! On the main island! Through the window I can see the guilded sphere and the small island. Now I know where all the books in the book room link to!
I added the following to the original table in my journal:
Book | Description | Age |
1 | Blue/Purple | Gaelin Linking Cave |
2 | Grey/Black | Ge'airram |
3 | Sky (blue w/clouds) | Cissar |
4 | Grey Marble | Taiga |
5 | Mystic Green | Alev |
6 | Brown | Gaelin Storeroom |
On the table there is an unlit candle and two linking books. I can see that one is in a very bad state indeed. The Age appears to have exploded into many huge rocks filled with magma. This must be the ruined age of Amerak mentioned in Noira's journal. I wouldn't dare try it. The other one I am uncertain about, but it seems my only way out of here. It looks okay.
To my left are a few shelves. The bottom one has a key on it. I'll take it just in case. One never know what to expect in these ages. There is also some shelves on my right. On them is another D'ni inkwell and a can of pens.
Since I thought I'd found everything of use in the storeroom, I decided to use the unknown linking book. The linking panel appears to be focusing inside a building of some sort. After making sure I had all my gear -- my pack, journal and key, I linked.
